If you are a film buff, or maybe just an Obama fan, then check out the 2009 Chicago Independent Film Festival where all showings are free. This year includes an Obama documentary about his trip back to the African continent. The CIFF celebrates cultural diversity and the impact it has on film production. Works of emerging filmmakers from around the world will be shown at various venues throughout the city all day long.
Here is the schedule and it includes the new documentary entitled “Senator Obama
Goes to Africa / El Senador Obama Viaja a Africa”, an engaging 52 minute look by Director Bob Hercules at the personal odyssey that follows President Barack Obama as he traveled as a Senator to the land of his ancestry. From South Africa to Kenya to a Darfur refugee camp in Chad. Obama explores the vast continent that is gaining increasing importance in this age of globalization.
