Chicago’s Wilco To Do Free Show at Winter Olympics – Feb 13




The legendary Chicago band Wilco has just announced that it will start the Canadian leg of its TransCanada Tour (from British Columbia to Nova Scotia, with a half dozen stops planned for south of the border) with an auspicious beginning: a free concert in Vancouver’s David Lam Park on February 13 as part of the “Live City” events celebrating the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

Alexisonfire, Sam Roberts Band, Malajube, Blue Rodeo, Wilco and Jully Black are among those that will play free concerts as part of the festivities surrounding the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver. jeff tweedy wilco Chicagos Wilco To Do Free Show at Winter Olympics   Feb 13 The shows are part of LiveCity Vancouver, two sites in Vancouver that will also host family-geared events during the Olympics. The Yaletown site in David Lam Park will host most of the Olympic music programming, while the downtown location at Cambie and Georgia streets is intended to be more of an area where people can eat and drink and watch Olympic events on big screens.

The 2010 Olympic Winter Games run from Feb. 12 to 28 in Vancouver and Whistler, B.C.
