Just a reminder to all adventurous Chicagoans! Don’t let this cold/sleety weather in Chicago slow you down. Come out and enjoy the fifth annual free Polar Adventure Days on Jan 23, 2010 at 12pm to 4pm. Watch as amazing ice sculptures are created right in front of you, meet an arctic dog sled team, and see birds of prey and other live animals. You can also make winter crafts, sip hot cocoa, and snowshoe, if there is snow. Don’t forget to dress warm. These events are free and no registration is required. Cool things to do include:
- engage in winter activities
- watch the ice sculptors
- create nature-inspired crafts
- enjoy an arctic camping demo
The first 500 visitors will receive a complimentary Polar Adventure Day mug filled with hot chocolate. And if it snows, there is a free snowshoe rental! Northerly Island is located at 1400 S. Lynn White Drive on Museum Campus. For more information, call 312-742-PLAY.
