Brave the weather and enjoy a great free thing to do in Chicago in January –a free day at Brookfield Zoo on Sunday, January 24. Brookfield Zoo is inviting its guests to celebrate the dog days of winter for the zoo’s FREEze Day. The event features free winter activities throughout the day – and free zoo admission. See dog-sledding demonstrations and learn about adopting Siberian huskies. Native American storyteller and flute player Pat Moon will entertain guests. Visitors can also try their hand (and feet) at snowshoeing.

Stop by the REI tent to try your hand at snowshoeing (snow dependent)! Snowshoeing is easy, great fun and perfect for Midwest winters. No special footwear needed, just be dressed for the outdoors. It’s a good chance to learn more about all the winter animals at Brookfield Zoo. And zoo admission is FREE!
