Come enjoy the free classical music concert in Chicago on March 14, 2010 featuring talented young musicians from throughout Chicago in the Sunday Salon, as the Classical Symphony Orchestra performs Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet Suite No. 3, Thomas’s Mignon Overture, and Nielson’s Symphony No. 2 Op. 1 as Joseph Glymph conducts.
The Sunday Salon weekly free concert series explores the rich landscape of classical music, from familiar Western orchestral compositions to contemporary improvisational forms and international classical traditions, plus family-friendly programs. So bring a friend and take a leisurely afternoon to enjoy these free music performances.
The Classical Symphony Orchestra consists of college-level and young adult musicians. Together with the junior high and high school-level Protégé Philharmonic, it forms a serious music education program for serious musicians. he mission of the organization is to build the future of classical music through the cultivation of young artists, which includes orchestral training opportunities, chamber music ensembles, soloists and composers.
