To celebrate the Fourth of July, Montreal-based mTrip is giving away free US City guides for Chicago, New York, and San Francisco. Owners of the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch can go to the App Store for today only and download the guides for free.
The guides offer users automatic and personalized travel itineraries, map localization, augmented reality, directions, expert and user-generated content. Users can share via email and Facebook snapshots and postcards.
Maps are stored to the device so users can use offline without any roaming fees. The guides can direct travelers where they want to go by foot or subway. Updates are added daily, and the guides contain information on restaurants, shopping, nightlife, tourist attractions, and much more.
