Free Admission to Germany’s Oktoberfest at Chicago’s Navy Pier

Traditional and modern Germany meet at Navy Pier!Germany’s Best & Oktoberfest combines an authentic Oktoberfest featuring German food and drinks with  exhibits and programs portraying modern Germany in the areas of business, culture, travel, and the arts.  Fans of the Christkindlmarket Chicago will love this new event put on by German American Services, Inc..

As the name, Germany’s Best and Oktoberfest, suggests, this is an event in two distinct, yet intimately related parts: Several exhibit and vendor booths representing Germany’s Best in a variety of areas lead up to the oversized Oktoberfest tents.  Inside the tents, visitors can expect to be greeted by upbeat Oktoberfest music ranging from the classic to modern hits.  Wait staff in dirndl and lederhosen will be attending to the many rows of typical wooden benches and tables.  The aromas of German delicacies waft in the air while the clinking of the souvenir beer steins ring throughout the tents.

If the goal is to have fun and leave with a richer understanding of modern Germany’s automotive industry, innovative manufacturing, green technologies, arts, education, and other initiatives, and how it connects to America, then Germany’s Best & Oktoberfest is the place to be. Get ready to “O’zapft is!”

Free is a relative term whenever the name Navy Pier is mentioned … It’s a pain in the ass to get to and parking is $24.00 ….
