Free Family Fun: Cantigny Fall Festival – Oct 8




free cantigny fall festThe free Cantigny Fall Festival, in Wheaton, a Chicago suburb, one of the park’s most popular annual events, will take place Saturday, October 8  (click at bottom for more info).    Festival hours are 10 am to 4 pm. Admission is free to the public with paid parking ($5 per vehicle).   Attractions will include:

  • Arts and Crafts Show with more than 40 vendors
  • Pumpkin Decorating
  • Scarecrow Making
  • Hayrides
  • Music by The Salt Creek Boys
  • Candy Dive
  • Scribblemonster Kids Concert
  • Face Painting
  • Stiltwalker and Juggling Show
  • Barnyard Petting Zoo
  • Inflatables

In addition, free hayrides will be offered at Cantigny Park not only at the Fall Festival but also on October 15, 22 and 29, from noon to 4 pm. Visitors will enjoy a stroll through Cantigny’s beautiful fall gardens to see more than 50 creatively decorated scarecrows. A map with their locations (and names!) will be available. Seasonal treats will be available during the festival at outside concession stands and inside at Bertie’s Coffee Shop. Hours are 9 am to sunset in November and December.

 

Cantigny Park, part of the Chicago-based Robert R. McCormick Foundation, is the 500-acre Wheaton estate of Robert R. McCormick. It is home to the McCormick Museum, First Division Museum, formal gardens, picnic grounds, walking trails and a Visitor Center with banquet and dining facilities.
