The day after Thanksgiving, Lincoln Park Zoo kicks off their annual, free ZOOLIGHTS holiday celebration, featuring luminous displays and holiday-season activities throughout the zoo grounds. This amazing free light show at Chicago’s free Lincoln Park Zoo is a holiday favorite in Chicago and part of many family traditions. One of the brightest parts of Chicago’s winter – ZooLights – returns on November 23 to the Lincoln Park Zoo and runs to Jan 6. ZooLights will shine each Friday–Sunday until December 26, at which point the lights will stay on nightly until January 6. (Santa heads back to the North Pole after December 23, however.).
ZooLights is free and open to all so come by for ice carving demonstrations, visits with Santa, warm drinks, cool crafts and more than one million beautiful lights. There are huge lighted animal sculptures that cast a magical holiday glow at the Lincoln Park Zoo during the annual Zoolights Festival.
