Free Uptown Garden Walk This Weekend

The annual Uptown Garden Walk in Chicago is returning this weekend Sept 7 for its fourth year! Come out for a day of fun and enjoyment as we explore the diverse identity of Uptown through its local gardens! We will enjoy morning yoga, two guided tours, and a garden gathering!

 

Yoga in the Garden, 8:30 am – 9:30 am*
Meet at Clarendon Park, located at 4501 N Clarendon Ave
Start your day in one of Uptown’s favorite garden spaces! Yoga in the Garden will be led by Yoga Body Elements.

Lake Effect Tour, 11:00 am – 12:30 pm
Meet at Ginkgo Organic Garden, located at 4055 N Kenmore Ave
Learn how Uptown’s history and gardens matter in our climate-challenged times. Lake Effect: Gardens and History for Climate-Challenged Times will be led by Melanie Eckner of Uptown Coastal Initiative and Susan Ask of animalia project.

Mingle with neighbors and garden stewards and enjoy refreshments and mini-workshops.

 

Trees of Uptown Tour, 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm
Meet at Clarendon Park, located at 4501 N Clarendon Ave
Explore the role of trees and how we can care for them in a changing climate. Trees of Uptown will be led by Andrew Lueck of Planned Forest Solutions.
