Chicago art gallery tours are free and no reservations are required, except for large groups.  A Chicago gallery representative leads a free guided tour of 4 galleries. The gallery roster and tour leader change weekly, & conversation centers on the exhibits and artists currently on view. Come out for some more free 2010 Discount Days in March as every Tuesday is free admission in March 2010.  The Adler is a recognized leader in science education, with a focus on inspiring young people to pursue careers in science.  A new exhibit for families in coming and March 26, the Adler Planetarium is launching the most immersive, hands-on exhibition ever created for families at the museum. The exhibition will be called Planet Explorers, and it will offer a great space adventure packed with excitement and fun. MCA Free Tuesdays in Chicago: Listen to Matthew Kerstein – Feb 23

The MCA offers a range of free and interesting events in the cafe almost every Tuesday evening through April 2010. Museum admission is free to everyone on Tuesdays so come early and visit the galleries and then stick around for constructive entertainment accompanied by a glass of wine or a cup of Joe and a tasty snack from Puck’s Cafe.

Free – Feb 23: Some of Chicago’s most renowned music clubs and organizations present their favorite local singer-songwriters. This hour-long set provides an opportunity for emerging musical artists to present their original work.

Are you visiting Chicago or maybe looking for things to do with kids this winter 2010 ?  Well, Chicago has a bunch of world class museums, but also a number of museum deals, and when it comes to bargains, free is tough to beat. Many Chicago museums offer a number of “free days” during the winter 2010 to entice weekend wayfarers to visit the Windy City. The following is a list of some of the popular museums’ free days. However, some special exhibits may charge for admission.

Adler Planetarium Every Tuesday in January and February, and Feb. 10 through Feb. 12.

Art Institute of Chicago Every day in February, and from 5 to 8 p.m. every Thursday throughout the year.
