Take a fun roadtrip and stop by Living Sea Aquarium in Park Ridge for the free shark and stingray feedings every Saturday & Sunday at 2:00 p.m. (there are also free stingray feedings every Monday – Friday at 2:00 and 7:00 p.m.). Living Sea Aquarium is a local fish store that is more like a mini museum, aquarium and pet store rolled into one. It’s a wonder to walk through and especially fun to watch/help feed the stingrays and sharks. Living Sea Aquarium has been supplying Chicagoland with fish for almost 20 years (15 years in our current location) and currently is one of the largest aquarium stores, specializing in Shark and Stingrays, in freshwater, salt water and reef aquariums.
With over 8,000 gallons of water dedicated to marine livestock, Living Sea has the largest and most comprehensive selection of salt water fish and invertebrates in the Midwest. They have a couple of ponds and one has an amazing puffer fish with huge eyes and it follows you around with those beautiful eyes. These are the guys who Rainforest Cafe hired to install aquariums in their five Chicagoland stores. They also did the 3 Nano Reef aquariums for Chicago’s Navy Pier during the recent 3D IMAX movie – Deep Sea narrated by Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet.
