Internationally recognized composer, performer and recording artist Tom Sharpe, drummer for both Mannheim Steamroller and Dennis DeYoung (who used to be with STYX), will performing a FREE concert on Feb. 6, 2011 at 2 p.m. in meeting room one at the Palatine Public Library located at 700 N. North Court. He has received numerous awards for composing from VH1, Disc Makers, and the Great American Songwriting Contest, said Andrea Lublink, communications manager for the Palatine Public Library district. His music is described as “a percussive symphony, and a sonic and visual feast for the senses.” Sharpe is an alumnus of the Interlocken Arts Academy and has a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Music from DePaul University in Chicago. Genres he performs include Middle Eastern, African, orchestral, and rock.
