Need a Place to Park After Blizzard? Evanston Parking Garages FREE until Saturday to Get Cars off Streets

Due to the city’s snow route and snow emergency parking bans being in effect, Evanston’s three downtown parking garages will be free to park for those residents who need to move their vehicles off city streets. Parking will remain free until midnight Saturday, said assistant city manager Marty Lyons. Those who exit after that time will be charged a one-time $13 fee.

Also, Evanston’s Robert Crown Community Center (1701 Main Street, Evanston, IL 60202 – P: 847.448.8258)  remains open and free as a warming center and temporary shelter. Community centers will open at 10 a.m. tomorrow due to school closings, officials said. Both Robert Crown and Fleetwood Jourdain centers will open earlier for daycare services.
