Check out the final FREE showcase dance event of DanceBridge, a Chicago dance residency that provides professional dance artists and choreographers with free rehearsal space for a 12-week period to develop a new work. The showcase is a free public performance of the works in progress by DanceBridge participants, followed by a post-show discussion.
Lizzie Leopold presents une elephante, a duet danced by Melissa Bloch and Nicole Romano Uribarri that explores ideas of duration and endurance. Inspired by portraiture, the 
piece challenges both the dancers and the audience to sit with a single movement and/or idea for many minutes. Paige Cunningham presents One Careless Gesture Away from Destruction, a collaborative dance project with JSun Howard, Damon Green and Cara Sabin, that explores the juxtaposition of Voguing and Contemporary Ballet and their seemingly disparate vocabularies.
