Joliet rings in the holidays with its 12th annual Light up the Holidays Festival and Parade Nov. 25 at several locations in downtown Joliet, said Tom Mahalik, vice president of City Center Marketing with the Will County Center for Economic Development. Activities start at 10 a.m. when the Joliet Area Historical Museum opens its doors for a free admission day. Bring your family and out-of-town guests to the museum as we joyfully welcome the holiday season with free admission for all! Enjoy the museum’s galleries, including the special exhibit, Joliet Remembers the Civil War. Holidays-Around-the-World-themed crafts for kids, and special entertainment is scheduled throughout the day in the Caterpillar, Inc., Auditorium. Free refreshments will be served.
There will also be crafts for kids, free refreshments and entertainment until 4 p.m. On your way into the museum, you will find students from Joliet Junior College’s culinary arts program doing an ice carving demonstration from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
