The Miller Lite Free Rides program around St Patrick’s Day is a collaborative effort between transit systems, community organizations, law enforcement agencies, civic organizations and others to help keep our streets safe and prevent drunk driving on major holidays and throughout the year. Take advantage of a safe transportation alternative this St. Patrick’s Day. Miller Lite Free Rides will provide service to many popular destinations, including restaurants, bars, local events, and other neighborhood celebrations in Chicago.
The Miller Lite Free Rides program, which for a couple of years has offered transportation to people attending the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in downtown Chicago, has been expanded to include other events, three of which are taking place this weekend in the South Chicago area. The free shuttle bus rides will be offered at the Oak Forest Fleadh on Saturday and the South Side Irish St. Patrick’s Day Parade and the Tinley Park Irish Parade on Sunday. “We believe that drunken driving is completely preventable and encourage folks to plan ahead for a safe ride home this St. Patrick’s Day,” Diane Wagner, a manager for MillerCoors, said in a prepared statement. Since the program’s inception, Miller Lite Free Rides has provided rides to more than 2.9 million people and expects to have its 3 millionth rider on St. Patrick’s Day.
