It is summertime in Chicago and that means great 2012 festivals in Chicago each week. Here is a listing of all the great festivals in Chicago in June 2012.


57th Street Art Fair

Wine Riot 2012 festivals in Chicago - june 2012

Eastside Millenium Arts Festival

Celebrate “Art in the City” at the Chicago Eastside Millennium Art Festival! Produced in collaboration with the local Eastside Millennium Gateway Association, this world-class celebration of art showcases the original works of acclaimed artists in a variety of mediums.


Chicago Bluesfest
11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., June 8-10

Grant Park
Come on out and enjoy the Chicago Blues Festival — the largest free blues festival in the world and the largest of Chicago’s Music Festivals. During three days on five stages, more than 500,000 blues fans prove that Chicago is the “Blues Capital of the World.” Past performers include B.B. King, the late Bo Diddley, Bonnie Raitt, Ray Charles, Buddy Guy and the late Koko Taylor.


Ribfest Chicago
June 8-10, 2012

Old Town Art Fair

The Old Town Art Fair, selected as one of the top 10 art fairs in the country by AmericanStyle Magazine last year, celebrates its 63nd anniversary on June 9 and 10, 2012 as the charming, tree-lined streets of the city’s historic Old Town Triangle District set the stage for 260 nationally acclaimed artists and an estimated 50,000 art lovers.

Wells Street Art Fair

N. Wells Street, between North Avenue and Division Street
The 38th annual Wells Street Art Fair, hosted by the Old Town Merchants and Residents Assocation, features an eclectic mix of original works by more than 250 juried artists. There is also live music and a silent auction.

Andersonville Midsommarfest
2 p.m. June 9-10
Foster Avenue and Clark Street
The 47th annual street fest welcomes nearly 50,000 people annually for two days of dancing, family entertainment and food. Vendors near and far come to sell products, and ethnic dance troupes and bands provide the entertainment.


Printers Row Lit Fest

Dearborn Street, from Congress to Polk streets in Printers Row
Chicago Tribune’s Printers Row Lit Fest continues to cultivate its commitment to the written word, support of literacy, and literary endeavors. Attendees will enjoy programming featuring: discussions, readings and book signings from an array of talented authors, a children’s stage and activity area, an area for booksellers, and much more

8th Annual Guerrilla Furniture & Art Truck Show
June 12, 2012
1052 W. Fulton Market St.
5:30 – 9:30 pm

Founded by Morlen Sinoway, the Guerrilla Truck Show is an annual design event meant to bring Chicago design to a forefront. It’s where we all step out on the docks of the Fulton Market Street to check out creative vignettes by independent designers/artists in rented box trucks or as we like to call them mobile showrooms. It goes down for One Night Only, so don’t miss out on the excitement. Mark your calendars – Tuesday, June 12th!


Taste of Randolph

Restaurants of the West Loop come together to feature the best cuisines in food booths along the six block stretch. There will also be hand crafted and merchant goods for sale, a DJ dance stage and more to benefit the West Loop Gate Community Organization.

Spring Awakening Music Festival

Chicago’s first all-electronic music festival. Headliners include DJs and producers like Moby and Skrillex. Womp womp. Wobble wobble.

6 Corners BBQ Fest
June 16 & 17, 2012

The 6 Corners BBQ Fest welcomes everyone for a fun-filled weekend jam packed with delicious BBQ-style food, live music, vendors and children’s entertainment. Dad and the family won’t want to miss this exciting street festival over Father’s Day weekend!   A Guinness World Record will be broken at this year’s 6 Corners BBQ Fest, but we need your help to do it. Come to the Portage Theater, 4050 N. Milwaukee Ave., at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 16, and wear your sunglasses.   We will be attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the most people wearing sunglasses in the dark. This registered world record attempt coincides with the annual 6 Corner’s BBQ Street Festival held over Father’s Day weekend and seeks to create a fun family event that will promote the Portage Theater and the Portage Park community.


Chicago Pizza Fest

The Chicago Pizza Fest returns after a three year hiatus to celebrate the Windy City’s love of all things pizza. This third annual festival takes place June 16 – 17, 2012 at their new Uptown location on Wilson and Broadway.


Chicago Summerfest

Clark Street and Armitage Avenue
Live music, food and drink will be available at the Chicago Summerfest held in Lincoln Park. The festival will benefit the Mid-North Association.

Green Music Fest

Painting Wicker Park green again this summer is the Green Music Fest. This signature green technology-themed event reflects the hip/environmentally-conscious community by blending cutting edge, environmentally-conscious bands with all green vendors and activities and demos.


Old St. Pat’s World’s Largest Block Party
June 29 & 30, 2012
Des Plaines Ave. (Madison to Adams)

Among the most anticipated and popular summer events in Chicago, The World’s Largest Block Party, is an annual tradition for young adults to gather to meet, mingle and listen to nationally recognized entertainment. Throughout the years, countless people have shared the World’s Largest Block Party’s mission of hospitality and community. More than a thousand volunteers each year help host the event. The World’s Largest Block Party is one of Old St. Pat’s most significant fundraisers.
