The 16th annual Chicago SummerDance series presents free Salsa and Merengue dance lessons on Tuesday August 14 , and live music by Carpacho y Su Super Combo performing Salsa music. CARPACHO AND HIS SUPER COMBO started in 1986 with the main idea of integrating the band with musicians from various countries. The objective was to demonstrate the typical sound of music of each Latin American country. The band is succeeding to this end currently with musicians from the United States, Puerto Rico, Ecuador and the leader, from Medellin Colombia. Their specialty in music consists primarily of tropical music like Salsa, Merenque, Cumbia and Bolero. We also play Latin Jazz, Bossa Nova. We feel successful when our audiences dance all night long, enjoying the music and truly having a good time. The band has received the awards for the best local tropical band from Ritmo Awards 2000 and from C.U.P.U.L.A.for appreciation in representing the Colombian community
