The Free Printers Row Lit Fest in Chicago – June 7-8, 2014

Looking for something fun to do this weekend?  Why not check out the 30th annual FREE 2014 Printers Row Lit Fest in Chicago. (CLICK BOTTOM FOR MORE INFO) The two-day free festival (Sat., June 7 – Sun., June 8), is considered the largest free outdoor literary event in the Midwest-drawing more than 125,000 book lovers to the two-day showcase in Chicago’s historic Printers Row neighborhood. The free Chicago festival features author talks, music, cooking demos, entertainment, kid’s activities and much chicago lit fest Panels and events are held on seven stages, featuring experts on an array of topics such as politics, sports, children’s storytelling, science and much more.  As in years past, all events are free and open to the public. However, some venues will require you to register for tickets in advance due to space limitations.


The Lit Fest will celebrate its 30th year with a special selection of programming celebrating the past, present and future of the Chicago literary scene, including flashback events featuring MTV VJ Alan Hunter, a special reading by The Second City of “The Breakfast Club” and a performance by the Old Town School of Folk Music’s “Wiggleworms.”
The 2014 Lit Fest features more than 100 free literary programs and nearly 140 new, used and antiquarian booksellers.

This year’s headlining authors include 2014 Chicago Tribune Young Adult Literary Award winner James Patterson, Stuart Dybek, Marlo Thomas, Walter Mosley, Colson Whitehead and many more.
