FREE 2015 Chicago Shakespeare in the Parks Performances

Chicago Shakespeare Theater and the Chicago Park District each year sponsor the FREE 2015 Chicago Shakespeare in the Parks program, which will be focused on Shakespeare’s Greatest Hits. The FREE 2015 citywide tour travels to neighborhood parks across Chicago, in later July 19 to August 16th. From Humboldt Park to Garfield and Loyola Park to South Shore, the summer’s Chicago Shakespeare in the Parks will break down barriers to arts participation and give Chicagoans direct access to their City’s cultural resources by bringing 20+ FREE Shakespeare performances into 18 different neighborhood parks (see below).

Chicago’s favorite summer tradition, Chicago Shakespeare in the Parks brings Shakespeare’s Greatest Hits, free for all to audiences in 18 Chicago Park District parks throughout the city. In this Chicago Shakespeare original, Shakespeare’s most memorable characters and scenes come to life, mashed-up with a score of today’s popular music. From Romeo and Juliet and Macbeth to The Taming of the Shrew and As You Like It, audiences will experience a lively medley of Shakespeare’s thrilling stories. Affirming the Theater’s commitment to Chicago communities, Chicago Shakespeare in the Parks tours to neighborhood parks on the city’s south, west and north sides in partnership with the City of Chicago, the Chicago Park District, Boeing and production sponsor BMO Harris.

Head on out this summer for this free, outdoor summer series premieres “Shakespeare’s Greatest Hits,”  in which Shakespeare’s most memorable characters and scenes come to life, mashed-up with a score of today’s popular music.
