Free Teen Book Festival This Weekend

Check out the Barnes & Noble’s first National Teen Book Festival. This June, hundreds of authors will appear at Barnes & Noble stores nationwide for B-Fest™, a three-day event celebrating the best books for teens. Join us for the biggest weekend of teen author events in B&N history, plus trivia, exciting sweepstakes, giveaways (while supplies last), and more. Be the first to sample upcoming teen novels, take part in games, and discover great new reads. Friday, June 10, at 7 p.m.: B-In the Know

They’ll be kicking off the festivities with Trivia Blast, created by Penguin Teen and Random House’s First in Line. One winner in each store will win advance reader’s copies of the most anticipated new books for teens.  Also at the event: Attendees can pick up the free B-Fest Guide from Penguin Random House with information on hot trends in teen books, while supplies last.

 

Saturday, June 11, at 11 a.m.: B-First

Young adult book fans can get sneak peeks at upcoming books, while supplies last. Among the offerings are samples of: James Dashner’s prequel to “The Maze Runner” and new stories in the “Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children” series by Ransom Riggs. And yes, early birds will get a taste of the much-anticipated new series by “Divergent” trilogy author Veronica Roth.

 

 

Saturday, June 11, at 2 p.m.: B-Part of the Fun

Test your skills at a spelling showdown, or try interactive games and activities built around popular book series. Prizes include tote bags.

 

Sunday, June 12, at 2 p.m.: B-Creative

Participate in a story development workshop created by Adaptive Studios, a company that creates re-imagined novels from pending movie scripts. What’s a “log line?” A “spark page”? You’ll find out. You’ll also learn about how to put a new spin on a popular character.
