Free Days in September at Popular Chicago Museums

Look at what the popular ‘big’ museums are offering for FREE DAYS in Chicago in September 2018.


Adler Planetarium

The Adler Planetarium is free to Illinois residents with a valid ID from Sept. 9 to Sept. 16. The Adler Planetarium in Chicago is offering free admission throughout 2018 on Illinois Resident Discount Days. On these free days in 2018, general admission to the planetarium is free. There is an additional fee for shows and the Atwood Sphere.The planetarium is open every day from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.



Art Institute of Chicago

There are lots of Free Museum days at the Art Institute in 2018 in Chicago……Come out and enjoy the Free Days in 2018 at the Art Institute of Chicago. Admission to the Art Institute of Chicago is free to Illinois residents every Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.


Field Museum

Illinois residents with a valid ID can visit the Field Museum for free between Sept. 15 and 17 and on Sept. 30. The museum is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on these four days.  So come on down to the Field Museum at 1400 South Lake Shore Drive – Chicago, IL for free admission (regular price is $15/adults and $10/kids so this is a BIG savings!).

Museum of Science and Industry

The Museum of Science and Industry has plenty of free days in September. They include Sept. 4–5, 9–12, 16–19, 23–26 and 30. Must provide a valid Illinois ID to get in.

Shedd Aquarium

The Shedd Aquarium is free all month long, until Sept. 30, to Illinois residents with a valid ID. The aquarium is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
