Adler Planetarium: The Adler Planetarium in Chicago is offering free admission throughout 2019 on Illinois Resident Discount Days. On these free days in 2019, general admission to the planetarium is free. There is an additional fee for shows and the Atwood Sphere. The Art Institute of Chicago – EVERY Thursday Evening except Thanksgiving – May 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 — Admission to the Art Institute of Chicago is free to Illinois residents every Thursday from 5-8 p.m.
The Block Museum of Art in Evanston – Free Tuesdays to Sundays
Charnley-Persky House Museum – Free on May 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 — FREE guided tours are offered every Wednesday at 12 Noon. Tours are limited to 15 guests, first-come, first-served.
Chicago Botanic Garden: This garden spot is FREE every day, but parking can be expensive. Opt to take a train instead — the Union Pacific North line stops right by the entrance.
Chicago Children’s Museum – FREE for all visitors every Thursday, 5-8 pm. — May 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 except Thanksgiving — FREE on the first Sunday of each month (May 5) for children 15 and under.

Field Museum: Enjoy some FREE DAYS during Field Museum Free Days in 2019! There are 52 days a year when basic admission is free in 2019 to Illinois residents – including Second Mondays and EVERY DAY in February 2019. So come on down to the Field Museum at 1400 South Lake Shore Drive

Shedd Aquarium: Come on out and enjoy the Shedd Aquarium, which is FREE to Illinois residents on 25 days in January and, February, 2019. These are part of what is called Illinois Resident FREE Days in 2019 when general admission to the Shedd Aquarium is free. Including these 25 FREE days, Shedd’s has 52 free days in 2019 take advantage of civic and school holidays to make family visits more convenient and the free admission to the Shedd Aquarium, includes the Waters of the World, Amazon Rising, and the Caribbean Reef. Packages including Wild Reef, Polar Play Zone and Oceanarium are available at a discounted rate. In February, the museum will be FREE each week from Monday through Friday all month.
