If you’re craving a McDonald’s Egg McMuffin sandwich, this is the week to pounce. For one day, McDonald’s will have a deal on its original breakfast sandwich. On Thursday, days after National Fast Food Day, the fast-food giant will offer the Egg McMuffin for the throwback price of 63 cents with the McDonald’s mobile app. McDonald’s said it’s offering the deal in honor of the sandwich’s 50th anniversary, which it called the “first-ever quick service restaurant breakfast sandwich.”
It debuted in 1971 in Santa Barbara, California with the national rollout in 1975. The promotion runs from 6 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, and is offered exclusively on the McDonald’s app.. Customers can order the breakfast sandwich at the throwback price, and any add-ons, for carry out, Drive Thru or dine-in at participating restaurants.
