Come on out and cheer the participants in the 2022 Chicago Polar Plunge, which returns in-person to North Avenue Beach on Sunday, March 6th, with a virtual option available, as well. Registration is open by visiting www.chicagopolarplunge.org, and walk up registration is available at North Avenue in the days prior to March 6th.
Now in its 22nd annual year, the Chicago Polar Plunge benefits the thousands of athletes in the Special Olympics Chicago/Special Children’s Charities program. All money raised stays in Chicago to support the athletes with disabilities within the city.
Registrants are asked to raise a minimum of $200. All participating plungers will receive free parking at Lincoln Park Zoo, or a free bus for groups of 20 or more; a souvenir t-shirt; towel when exiting the water; free photo downloads; and complimentary food at the “Melt Down Party.”

For those who wish, a virtual option is also available. Jump in a snowbank, run through a sprinkler, or stay cozy at home while helping the athletes of Special Olympics Chicago.

Over the last decade, the Chicago Polar Plunge has become the largest, and most well-known plunge in the country, attracting celebrity plungers, and garnering national and international attention.
