Lionel Richie Free Concert

In celebration of its re-branding as an Ameristar property, Ameristar Casino Hotel is offering three free concerts this summer, but you’ll need to move fast to score free tickets for the Free Lionel Richie Concert on July 20 at Ameristar Casino Hotel in East Chicago, Ind. Although the concert is free, tickets are required for admission, Tickets are available at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, July 9, on Tickets.com

Free Millenium Park Lunchtime Concert – Pit er Pat – June 15

Free Concert: Each Monday in the summer at Millenium Park, the Edible Audio Picnic is a noontime series that features cutting edge rock bands, sound artists, audio documentaries, expert DJs, electronic musicians and more. This week Pit Er Pat is featured and they span the spectrum with their indefinable style and ability to implement several genres in their music.

Free Concert by Kanye West – June 11

On June 11, Kanye West hosted a free concert for Chicago Public Schools in association with The Kanye West Foundation and S.H.O.W. All the proceeds went to the funding of Loop Dreams, a program that aims to keep kids engaged in school by supplying them with access to recording equipment, software, and instruments.

Dusk Variations: A Free Chamber Music Series Starting June 15

FREE CONCERT: Come to Millenium Park on June 15th as this new series of four free concerts of chamber music, inlcuding elements of electronic music, improvisation and rock and roll, combined with classical music. This new Monday series showcases smaller groups performing non-traditional fare for a broader audience and June 15th opens up with ChicagoCentric.

Chicago’s Free Blues Festival – June 12-14

The Chicago Blues Festival is the largest free blues festival in the world and remains the largest of all of Chicago’s Music Festivals. During the three days (June 12-14) on six stages, more than 640,000 blues fans last year proved that Chicago is the “Blues Capital of the World”.

It’s Time for the Old Town/Wells Street Art Festival – June 13-14

While not free, (Your $7 gate donation ($10 after 7pm) benefits the Old Town Merchants & Residents Association), the Wells Street Art Festival is recognized as one of Chicago’s most prestigious art fairs, attracting exhibitors and prospective buyers from all over the nation. The show features a wide variety of fine art – everything from glass and ceramics, to pencil drawings and oil paintings – plus a silent auction and children’s area.

Free Concert by Million Dollar Quartet on June 2

The cast of the smash hit Million Dollar Quartet will be performing a free concert at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park on Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at 6:30 p.m. Chicago’s beloved musical was inspired by the famed 1956 recording session that brought together legendary rock ‘n’ roll icons Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley.
