Cirque Shanghai: Bright Spirit

Cirque Shanghai presents its all new production, Bright Spirit, June 3 – September 7 at the Pepsi Skyline Stage on Navy Pier. Cirque Shangahi returns for their fourth consecutive year, and is known as Chicago’s Summer Circus.

Come See the Free Stingray Feedings

Take a fun roadtrip and stop by Living Sea Aquarium in Park Ridge for the free shark and stingray feedings every Saturday & Sunday at 2:00 p.m. (there are also free stingray feedings every Monday – Friday at 2:00 and 7:00 p.m.). Living Sea Aquarium is a local fish store that is more like a mini museum, aquarium and pet store rolled into one. It’s a wonder to walk through and especially fun to watch/help feed the stingrays and sharks.

Free Cinco de Mayo Festival

While Cinco de Mayo does not until Tuesday, get a jump on the celebration of an important Mexican victory over the French on May 5, 1862, with the three-day Cinco de Mayo Festival this weekend in Douglas Park, 1401 S. Sacramento.

Free Cooking Classes – May, 2009

The Williams-Sonoma in The Woodlands Mall will be hosting free cooking classes during the month of May. The hour-long culinary arts classes will take place Sunday, May 3rd, 2009; Sunday, May 17th, 2009; and Sunday, May 31st, 2009. Classes will be held from 12p.m. to 1p.m. in the Demonstration Kitchen in the store.
